Spring practice is going on around the country, and we've got a good glimpse of what BYU has in store this fall. So, why not take a look at what BYU's opponents are doing in spring camp?
While one team (Portland State) hasn't kicked off camp just yet, the other 12 of BYU's foes this season have at least started camp. From LSU's Derrius Guice to Wisconsin's Alex Hornibrook, here's a roundup of what BYU's opponents are up to this spring:
Portland State

Portland State's spring practice doesn't open until April 5. However, there are two stories of interest surrounding the Vikings:
The Vikings just signed two more players: RB Amon Milliner and WR Beau Kelly.
Portland State offensive lineman Troy Bacon had the best discus throw for the school in more than 20 years at the L&C Spring Break Open. Bacon threw the discus 152 feet, 8 inches, good enough for seventh place at the meet. Bacon also took 11th in the shot put.
LSU
Running back Derrius Guice told reporters that he's going to be lining up as a receiver "a lot now." Guice made only nine receptions last season for 106 yards and one touchdown. LSU is looking for more ways to get the ball into Guice's hands, which is only natural given that Guice is the Tigers' biggest playmaker returning from last season.
LSU's offensive players are reportedly excited about new offensive coordinator Matt Canada's offense. Last season Canada was a finalist for the Broyles Award, which is given to the country's best assistant coach, after his performance as the offensive coordinator at Pitt. According to the article, one of the biggest reasons why players are excited is because of how Canada's offense expands the role of different positional players.
Canada also went out of his way to praise his relatively unproven wide receivers, calling them the "nation's top receiving corps.
"We'll see if this group can live up to that title," Canada said.
One of BYU's biggest challenges will be trying to move the ball against one of the most terrifying defensive lines in the nation. There are three fifth-year seniors on LSU's defensive line.
Former LSU QB Brandon Harris is transferring to North Carolina. He started all of 2015 but lost the starting job early last season.
Danny Etling, who took the starting job from Harris last season, is the frontrunner for the starting position this season according to head coach Ed Orgeron. Etling passed for 2,123 yards and 11 touchdowns last season with five interceptions.
Utah
The quarterback battle rages on in Salt Lake between Troy Williams and Tyler Huntley. Williams "still has the edge," according to head coach Kyle Whittingham. Williams passed for 2,757 yards and 15 touchdowns last season.
New offensive coordinator Troy Taylor brings a more up-tempo offense to Utah, and the folks at Block U wonder if this is a good thing for the Utes. They conclude that it seems to be a better fit this time around as opposed to previous attempts by other offensive coordinators.
Utah's camp is full of questions and intrigue, according to Amy Donaldson.
Wisconsin
While his teammates were off for spring break, quarterback Alex Hornibrook spent time in San Diego with George Whitfield Jr. to work on his game. As a freshman, he passed for 1,262 yards and nine touchdowns.
David Edwards had to gain 45 pounds in 11 months to switch from tight end to tackle.
