DIAMOND VALLEY, Washington County — A 17-year-old St. George girl died Sunday night after her vehicle collided with a truck, the Utah Highway Patrol reported.

Abbigayl Kraushaar, 17, was headed west on Diamond Valley Drive when she approached the intersection with state Route 18 about 8:35 p.m., according to a UHP statement.

Kraushaar's car did not stop at the stop sign at the intersection, troopers reported, but drove out onto SR-18 where a northbound pickup truck collided with the car on the driver's side. The truck had the right of way and was travelling at about the road's posted speed limit of 65 mph when the crash occurred, according to UHP.

Kraushaar died in the collision. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to an area hospital in poor condition.
