This just out — Iowa now gets 35 percent of its electrical power from wind energy. That’s 35 percent. How long before Utah’s leaders and Legislature begin to really give the tax breaks and other state-provided economic incentives to wind, solar, vehicular and other renewable energy sources and users, instead of to the dead man walking coal industry, other fossil fuel, and other extractive sources and users? The state should be encouraging economic resources to retrain workers in dying industries instead of continuing to encourage use of non-renewable energy. How long?
