Real Monarchs SLC will put their nine-game win streak on the line Saturday at Phoenix Rising FC, and the team's striker and part-owner Didier Drogba.

The 39-year-old was an international star, playing from 2004-2012 and 2014-2015 with Chelsea of the English Premier League, and has scored over 250 goals for club and country in his career.

The Monarchs will have their hands full with the Rising's offense, where the striker has made an immediate impact. In his first two games with Phoenix, Drogba has scored three goals and assisted one in a 2-1 win over Vancouver and a 2-2 draw against Swope Park.

Seeking to add to their record win streak with a 10th straight victory, the Monarchs' 12-1-0 record has already exceeded the club's win mark in 2016, when the team finished with just 10 wins on the season.

Though Phoenix's roster has undergone significant changes since earlier in the season, the two teams have already met once this year. On April 1, goals from Chandler Hoffman and Omar Holness propelled the Monarchs to a 2-0 victory over Phoenix.
