Facing possible elimination from the knockout stages at the U-21 UEFA Championships, RSL's Albert Rusnak and his home country of Slovakia beat Sweden 3-0.

Rusnak has started at midfielder and played every minute of the three matches in Group A. The team solidified a runner-up finish in the group, which does not automatically qualify Slovakia for the tournament's knockout rounds, but gives it a chance following the end of Group C play.

As it stands, Slovakia is in position to take the fourth and final spot in the semifinals, with the three leaders in each group automatically qualifying.

An upset victory by Italy over undefeated Germany or a win by Czech Republic by three or more goals over Denmark on Saturday could knock Slovakia out of the tournament.

Thus far, Rusnak has not scored, but has tallied an assist in group play.
