VERNON, Tooele County — A husband and wife were taken to separate hospitals following an ATV accident on Sunday.
The couple was riding together on a 4-wheeler on a dirt and gravel road near Vernon Reservoir about 2 p.m. when they apparently took a turn too fast and crashed, causing the ATV to roll on top of them, said Tooele County sheriff's deputy Justin Zabriskie.
The woman, approximately 35, had seizures after the crash, he said. When emergency crews arrived, she told them she was having trouble breathing and was not able to move her body. The woman was flown by medical helicopter to University Hospital.
The husband, 32, suffered a possible broken collar bone and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, Zabriskie said.
Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash.
