SALT LAKE CITY — Ballroom Utah is teaming with the Salt Lake County Library to host free adult dance classes at various locations through mid-August, allowing participants to learn the foxtrot, tango, waltz, salsa, rumba, cha-cha and swing.
The first class is at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Bingham Creek Library, 4834 W. 9000 South. The foxtrot will be taught.
“It’s a great opportunity to get instruction from award-winning professional ballroom dancers,” Liesl Seborg, senior librarian, said in a statement. “It’s all about lifelong learning, and dancing is something that many people enjoy. These classes are free and awesome and can help prepare people for the big dance in July.”
The dance steps can be learned on their own or in preparation for a dance and live concert on July 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Viridian Event Center, 8030 S. 1825 West. Music will be provided by Night Star Orchestra with Katrina Cannon.
