Gordon Hayward's wife reminds people that athletes are humans, too

Gordon Hayward's wife, Robyn, kept finding her way into the social media spotlight as fans awaited the former Utah Jazz forward's decision in free agency.

Whether it was posting a photo of their child wearing Celtics green on Instagram or writing about their favorite nail salon in Salt Lake City, Robyn inadvertently pulled on the heartstrings of several fan bases. And now, she's back on Instagram — this time reminding the fans of her husband's humanness.

After Hayward's strange indecisiveness July 4 concluded with a blog post announcing his move to Boston, some Jazz fans took to social media to express their displeasure.

Unfortunately, some fans found their way on Robyn's Instagram page and vented on the internet's most evil platform — otherwise known as the comments section.

Robyn then posted a photo of herself and Gordon.

For the caption, Robyn wrote, "I'm excited to go on this adventure with this man! It's bittersweet leaving where we've called home and grown our family, but I'm excited to see where this path takes us! We are so grateful for everything Utah has done for us! ❤️ Also, as for all the mean comments and threats. Don't forget athletes are humans too. Treat others how you would like to be treated. It would never cross my mind to speak so negatively and so full of hate about oneself or their family."

Robyn has turned off her Instagram comments.

Athletes are humans too, but given the nature of the move, it'll take some Jazz fans a while to get over Hayward's departure.

The Jazz, in a way, are stuck in a conference with the Golden State Warriors and have lost their best all-around player. The path to a championship, even with Hayward, was never clear. Now it's become that much more difficult to envision a way the Jazz can dethrone the top teams in the Western Conference.
