SANDY — Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in Mill Creek on Sunday.
The body was spotted floating near 35 West and 2950 South about 4 p.m. Sunday, South Salt Lake police spokesman Gary Keller said. Rescue teams and members of the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office retrieved the body, which had been caught in debris.
The man's identity and the cause of his death was unknown Sunday, Keller said. The medical examiner's office is investigating the death along with police.
Keller said investigators hope the man will be identified within a few days, and the department has spread its investigation along a large area of the creek as police try to determine exactly where and how the man went into the water.
