WEST VALLEY CITY — West Valley police say an injured man found lying in the street, who later died from his injuries, was likely the victim of a hit-and-run accident.

About 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, a passerby spotted Linus Alsano, 19, of West Valley City, lying in the road at 1907 W. 3100 South. The good Samaritan performed CPR until emergency crews arrived, but Alsano died at the scene, said West Valley police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku.

"It appears that he was hit by a vehicle," she said.

The road where the man was found has five lanes, but it is also lined with homes and is considered a residential area. Alsano has family that lives in the area, she said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 801-840-4000.
