Letter: Question for Sen. Lee

Sen. Mike Lee sent me an email tonight. It was his newsletter, "The Laudable Pursuit." In it, he states that the failed health care bill was "truly an anemic effort. Even worse than the product "was the process that led to the vote." The bill was written in secret, with no input from either the formal congressional committees charged with oversight of our health care system or the informal working group. He summarizes, "It is not the way a free people is supposed to govern itself."

I am compelled to ask the only logical question that follows: Why then, Sen. Lee, did you vote for this flawed and irresponsible legislation? Why did you not take a principled stand and vote against it, as did three of your more laudable Senate colleagues?
