BEAVER — The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is sponsoring its annual free Goat Watch on the Tushar Mountains east of Beaver.

During the event, which is set for Saturday, Aug. 12, participants could see as many as 100 mountain goats.

Interested participants should meet at 8 a.m. at the Cardwell convenience store and gas station, 215 N. Main. Partipants will then caravan to the top of the Tushar Mountains.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own viewing binoculars or spotting scopes, water, a hat, a jacket and a sack lunch. It’s also a good idea to travel in a vehicle that has high ground clearance as the road to the viewing site is rocky.

For more information, call the DWR’s Southern Region office at 435-865-6100.
