The star of a recent Disney show filming in Utah said a Utah city gives him inspiration.

Disney Channel’s “Andi Mack,” a comedy that shows the ongoing drama of a young girl, recently got renewed for its second season. And star Asher Angel, who portrays Jonah Beck, the crush of the titular character Andi (Peyton Elizabeth Lee), spoke with The Park Record about his experiences with the show.

Asher said he can relate to his character, which means he often acts like himself with the role.

"Sometimes it's funny because everything that happens in our script sometimes follows what happens in real life,” he said.

Asher previously starred on TV shows like "Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn" and "Criminal Minds."

Asher, who is originally from Phoenix, said he started his acting career in Arizona, where he worked at the Desert Stages theater. He auditioned for “Andi Mack,” and his career grew from there.

Asher said he draws inspiration from stars Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber.

And, funny enough, Park City.

"Park City is an incredible place to live, and I'm surprised not everyone lives there," he told The Park Record. "There are so many things that we can do there: bowling, fishing, skiing, especially fishing."
