WEST VALLEY CITY — Police arrested three people after a man was shot in the leg at a family party Friday night.
Isaac Rivas, Angel Mancia, both 18, and a juvenile, Mancia's brother, were booked into jail, West Valley Police Lt. Jeff Conger said.
The man who was shot was transported to a hospital in stable condition, Conger said.
The shooting happened after 10 p.m. Friday night at a family party at 2110 W. Alexander St., outside a business complex.
A vehicle with Rivas, Mancia and Mancia's younger brother inside pulled up to the party, and Mancia — standing up through the sunroof of the vehicle — shot nine rounds into a crowd of people standing outside the building, according to police reports.
Police said Mancia went to the party to stop a "dispute" his younger brother had over Facebook and text messages with the victim.
The three then fled the scene, police said, and "arranged to hide or destroy the evidence," police reports state, but they were later arrested after police made contact with them during a traffic stop.
Rivas and Mancia were booked into jail for investigation of attempted murder, discharge of a firearm, and tampering with evidence, according to police.
