SALT LAKE CITY — A helicopter on Thursday spotted the Jeep of two Utah teenagers who have been missing for more than a week on a drive from Tooele to Eureka.
The teens were not with the vehicle.
The search-and-rescue crew found the SUV, partially hidden in trees, about a mile south of Cherry Creek Reservoir, according to the Juab County Sheriff's Office.
Brelynne "Breezy" Otteson, 17, and Riley Powell, 17, left Tooele on Dec. 30. The couple planned to stop in Spanish Fork before going home to Eureka, where the two live with Powell's grandfather, the sheriff's office said.
Crews with search dogs combed the remote area Thursday, but did not find the pair. The office said there were no signs of foul play.
"There were no signs of the missing teens and search efforts will continue," the sheriff's office wrote on Facebook.
Family members reported the two missing Jan. 2 to the Juab and Tooele County sheriff's offices.
Powell's Jeep has more than 200,000 miles on it, authorities said last week, and the teens were believed to have old cellphones that use only Wi-Fi and don't have numbers attached to them.
