Photos: 2018 Sundance Film Festival ready for 10-day run

The annual festival kicks off its 10-day run Thursday with a news conference featuring Robert Redford, Sundance Institute president and founder. For the 2018 festival, 110 feature-length films were selected, representing 29 countries and 47 first-time filmmakers, including 30 in competition.These films were selected from 13,468 submissions that included 3,901 feature-length films and 8,740 short films. In addition to the films, which will be screened at a variety of venues in Park City, Salt Lake City and the Sundance Resort in Provo Canyon, the festival features a robust slate of panels and music performances.
