A man who rolled this minivan shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday while traveling southbound on I-15 in St. George walked away from the rollover near the St. George Boulevard exit. A short time later, the man attempted to cross the interstate on foot and was struck by a southbound car, according to the Utah Highway Patrol, and was killed instantly. He was not identified pending notification of relatives.

ST. GEORGE — A man was struck by a car and killed when he crossed I-15 on foot about 12:45 a.m. Sunday, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

The man was driving a minivan southbound on the interstate and lost control, causing it to roll. The car landed on its wheels near the St. George Boulevard exit and he walked away from the crash, initially along the shoulder of the southbound lane. When he attempted to cross the freeway, he was struck by a southbound car.

The driver of the car was wearing a seat belt and had minor injuries.

According to UHP reports, the deceased man is from Mexico and has no family in the state. His name was not release pending notification of kin.
