Utah Grizzlies: Utah begins week with Idaho on Wednesday at Maverik Center

Utah hosts Idaho on Wednesday at 7 p.m., before going to Boise on Friday and Saturday as it looks to build on a 5-3-0-1 record on the year against its closest regional rival.

Utah has drawn the third-most fans in the 27-team ECHL so far this season at 127,053 through 25 home games. Through 25 games, Utah is averaging 69 more fans per game than through 25 games last year when it averaged 5,360 fans per game, Utah’s highest attendance since the 2003-04 season.

Saturday’s postgame specialty jersey auction raised $15,603 with all proceeds going to Mascot Miracles Foundation, the University of Utah Burn Camp and other special causes for local police officers and firefighters.

Arizona Coyotes prospect Sean Maguire stopped 72-of-79 shots last week in his first three games at Maverik Center for a 2.36 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage.

Utah is 12-1-2-0 when scoring four goals or more this season as the Grizzlies have done in 10 of their last 19 games.

Jon Puskar is tied for fifth in the ECHL with 11 goals in 16 games since Dec. 22, and he also has four assists for 15 points in that 16-game stretch.

Chris Leibinger had one goal and four assists for five points in three games against Tulsa last week as he tallied three power-play assists.

Utah is 13 for its last 42 (30.9 percent) on the power play and 20 for its last 20 on the penalty kill.

Wednesday is a Wild Wednesday and the final home game until Feb. 19. The Grizzlies return home for a President’s Day Matinee and Maverik Monday on Monday, Feb. 19. On Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23 and 24, the Grizzlies team with Stadler to host Wichita for Grizzlies Fight Cancer.
