KAYSVILLE — The Utah Department of Transportation will hold an open house on Tuesday, Jan. 16, to discuss revisions to its draft environmental study for the U.S. 89 corridor in Davis County. The meeting will run from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Davis High School, 325 Main.
The study, which was released in October, detailed the preferred alternative development plan for the approximately $275 million reconstruction of the U.S. 89 corridor from Farmington to I-84 in Uintah, Weber County. The study outlined officials' preferred vision for U.S. 89 in Davis and Weber counties and called for a six-lane, limited-access roadway that could eliminate numerous existing homes and businesses in an decadeslong effort to alleviate a growing traffic congestion problem.
But since the initial draft was released, UDOT has continued to review all public input and has made refinements to the draft, which will be discussed at the open house. The revised draft — as well as an informative video explaining the study process followed during the present environmental study — is now available for public review on the project website at udot.utah.gov/us89.
