WEST VALLEY CITY — A 60-year-old man has died from injuries after his car rear-ended another vehicle Wednesday evening, police said.

The man, who was not identified pending notification of family, was eastbound on state Route 201 when he drove into a pickup truck at the ramp to I-215 in West Valley City around 6 p.m., said Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Todd Royce.

Traffic was heavy at the time of the accident, Royce said.

The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he later died.

Royce said the driver of the pickup sustained minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.
