Dixie State head women’s volleyball coach Robyn Felder announced Friday the signing of NJCAA second-team All-American outside hitter To’a Faleao to a scholarship offer to play for the Trailblazers the next two seasons.
Faleao (Lehi, Utah/Lehi HS) played two seasons at Salt Lake Community College where she helped lead the Bruins to two Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) titles and was a two-time all-region selection. Last fall, she led SLCC with 250 kills and was the SWAC leader in aces per set (34, 0.38 aps) on her way to first-team all-region, all-tournament and All-America honors.
As a freshman in 2016, Faleao earned second-team all-region accolades after leading the nationally-ranked Bruins in kills (354) and aces (24). Faleao prepped at Lehi HS where she garnered second-team Utah 5A recognition and was an all-region pick.
“To'a is the type of competitor we look for in this program. She is a flat-out competitor,” Felder said. “She will compete for a spot right away and give us the maturity and leadership that we are looking for. The fact that she can swing anywhere across the front line makes her especially valuable, and we are excited about being able to utilize her versatility. To'a is a great fit for our program.”
