VERNAL — A Uintah County man has been charged with enticing a 10-year-old North Carolina boy.

Donald Flayne Massey, 30, of Jensen, is charged in 8th District Court with enticing a minor by text, a third-degree felony. A warrant was issued for his arrest on Tuesday when he failed to show up for court, according to court records. He was arrested in Salt Lake City on Wednesday and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.

The investigation began Feb. 7 when authorities in North Carolina contacted Utah's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. North Carolina authorities say Massey was contacting a 10-year-old boy in their state, according to charging documents.

"I am aware Donald Massey has exhibited the same behavior in the past here locally and in different states," the arresting officer wrote in a court document.

Investigators uncovered a series of text messages that included suggestive messages with the boy, including, "Like if we sleep in are (sp) underwear would u cuddle with me," and "If we are drunk it won't matter right," according to court records.

In 2012, Massey was convicted of electronic communication harassment, a class B misdemeanor, in Vernal Justice Court, according to court records.
