Woman on leave from U.S. Navy killed in Utah car crash

SALT LAKE CITY — A 24-year-old woman on leave in Utah from the U.S. Navy died early Monday in a rollover crash.

About 2:10 a.m., an Acura was taking the ramp from I-215 to state Route 201 when the vehicle drifted off the ramp and rolled several times, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

A woman in the back seat, identified as Daniella Juliana Casey, 24, was ejected from the vehicle and killed, troopers said.

A woman driving the car and a man in the front passenger seat were taken to local hospitals with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

The two people in the front seat were wearing seat belts, while Casey was not, according to the UHP.

Casey had been stationed in Virginia, UHP said.
