EDEN, Rich County — A new fire ignited Thursday east of Bear Lake in Rich County and quickly grew to burn 5,000 acres, state fire officials said.

The blaze, dubbed the North Eden Fire, was 10 percent contained as of Thursday evening and had burned two fire vehicles.

A heavy engine and a light engine were both destroyed by the blaze, state fire officials said in a press release.

"The group of three firefighters was forced to leave the vehicles and escape into the black," officials said.

No injuries were reported.

Thursday evening, state fire officials on the Utah Fire Information Twitter account said the fire had reached the three-corner border of Utah, Wyoming and Idaho.

No additional information, including the cause of the fire, was immediately released.
