Thank you Doug Wilks for your articulate summary on climate change and your meeting with Brenda Ekwurtzel of the Union of Concerned Scientists.

I also read many of your readers' comments online, overwhelmingly climate deniers and those that believe humans are not contributing to our rapid warming and the accelerating levels of CO2. Many attributed changes to “natural oscillations” but seem unaware that the next oscillation should be a cooling trend, not warming.

I would recommend a book put out by the Union of Concerned Scientists titled “Cooler Smarter” to anyone who truly wants to understand the science behind climate change and what we must do now.

Burying our heads in the sand may feel good but is a highway to catastrophe. It allows us to do nothing. What is needed is a huge worldwide commitment.
