WEST JORDAN — The public is invited to take one last look at West Jordan Middle School.
The 1950s-era facility, which saw thousands of area students pass through its doors, is being rebuilt on the same site.
Tours of the building will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 18. Following the tours, a celebration program will be held in the auditorium at 6 p.m. It will feature speakers, musical numbers, recognition of former principals and a slideshow.
The new school, which is one of six the district building after voters approved a $245 million bond in 2016, will open for the 2019-20 school year. Demolition of the old school is expected to take place approximately the first week of July.
