LAYTON — Police have identified a man hit and killed while crossing a road in Layton Wednesday night.

Nicholas Hiatt, 32, of Layton, was hit at 2080 N. Main, said Layton Police Lt. Travis Lyman. He was taken to Davis Hospital and Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police on Wednesday said the driver who hit the man was cooperating with investigators.

Hiatt was crossing the street in an area without a crosswalk, police said, and it appears the driver did not see him.

The incident remained under investigation Friday while officers awaited toxicology results, Lyman said.
