Dixie State women's golf stands second after two rounds at the 2019 RMAC Championships

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Dixie State’s women’s golf team stands in second place after Monday’s second round at the 2019 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships played at the Ocotillo Resort Golf Club.

DSU (306-302-608, +32) entered day two with a slim one-stroke lead over Colorado State-Pueblo, and the Trailblazers improved by four shots on their second loop with a team combined score of 14-over par 302. However CSU-P (307-289) carded the low round of the event with a second round 1-over 289 to open up a 12-shot lead on the Blazers with a two-round total of plus-20 596. Dixie State enters Tuesday’s final round 11 strokes clear of third-place Colorado Christian (312-307-619, +43) and is 12 shots ahead of fourth-place Colorado Mesa (313-307-620, +44).

Sophomore Kaitlynn Deeble (74-75) is six strokes out of the individual lead in solo third place at plus-5 149 after she fired a 3-over par 75 on Tuesday, while senior Katie Ford (76-74) is a shot back in a four-way tie for fourth place at plus-6 150 following a 2-over 74 on her second loop.

Sophomore Cailyn Cardall (82-72) posted DSU’s low round of the event with an even-par 72 with three birdies to move up 19 spots on the leaderboard and into a tie for 12th at plus-10 154, followed closely by freshman Madison Moss (74-81) in t-14th at plus-11 155, and freshman Tayllore Ward (84-83) is tied for 40th at plus-23 167.

Dixie State will play in the final group in Tuesday's final round, which begins at 10:03 a.m. MDT.
