Utah State track and field wraps up regular season at two events this week

LOGAN – Utah State’s track and field teams will compete at a pair of events this week in order to set a few more marks before the conference championships. The Aggies will compete at the Weber State-hosted Twilight Meet on Wednesday and Thursday, May 1-2, as well as the Stanford-hosted Payton Jordan Invitational on Thursday, May 2.

Utah State will open the Twilight Meet on Wednesday with the women’s javelin at 2 p.m., while track events will kick off with the women’s 4x100-meter relay at 4:30 p.m. Day one will wrap up with the men’s 200-meter run at 7:20 p.m.

On Thursday, multiple Aggies will open the meet at 2 p.m. with the women’s hammer, men’s long jump and men’s discus, while the day will end with the women’s long jump (3 p.m.), men’s hammer (3 p.m.) and the women’s discus (3:30 p.m.).

In California, Cierra Simmons-Mecham will run in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase at 8:45 p.m. MT. The senior from Soda Springs, Idaho, currently leads the Mountain West and is 14th in the nation as she ran a time of 10:07.84 in the steeplechase at the Stanford Invitational on March 29.
