PARLEYS CANYON — An elderly man was killed in a fatal car crash in Parleys Canyon on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The man has not been positively identified by police, but investigators estimated that he was in his late eighties, according to Unified Police Sgt. Melody Gray. The rollover crash happened just off I-80 near Exit 132.
There were no witnesses to the crash and no other cars involved. It appears the man's pickup truck went off the road and through a patch of trees, Gray said. The truck rolled over and landed in the front yard of a cabin in the Mount Aire community.
Investigators don't yet know why the man went off the road, but suspect that it was due to a medical condition, Gray said.
The crash was reported at about 3:50 p.m., when someone driving by saw the truck in the yard.
