MINERSVILLE — A 14-year-old boy was killed in a car crash on state Route 21 on Thursday afternoon, Utah Highway Patrol said.

The teen was a passenger in a car that was driving east on the highway at about 2:38 p.m., police said. The crash happened roughly four miles east of Minersville.

The car drifted off the right shoulder and the driver overcorrected to the left, causing the car to roll, according to Utah Highway Patrol.

The driver of the car, a 17-year old boy, was taken to Beaver Valley Hospital in critical condition, then air lifted to Dixie Regional Medical Center.

Both the passenger and the driver were ejected from the car, police said. Neither boy was wearing a seat belt.
