MAGNA — Rangers at Great Salt Lake State Park will host a full moon walk on Saturday.
Participants will meet at the observation point just past the visitor center at 8:10 p.m. The moon is scheduled to rise at 8:20 p.m., so participants should be prompt.
During the walk, participants will watch as the moon rises and casts its reflection over the Great Salt Lake. They’ll also hear strange stories of the lake from times past — some true, others merely being tall tales.
The approximately half-mile walk on Silver Sands Beach is relatively flat. Flashlights are recommended, though they will be turned off for much of the time.
While the event is free, there is a $3 per vehicle entry free. The gates to the park will be closed at 8:30 p.m.
Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
Great Salt Lake State Park is located at 13312 W. 1075 South.
