SALT LAKE CITY — Following their 30-12 win over the BYU Cougars last week to open the 2019 season, the Utah Utes have moved up a spot in the Associated Press college football poll.

Ranked No. 14 before the season began, the Utes are 13th in the latest poll released Tuesday afternoon. They are now the highest-ranked team in the Pac-12 after being the third-highest in the first poll. The Oregon Ducks dropped from 11th to 16th while the Washington Huskies and Utah swapped the 13th and 14th spots.

The Utes remained No. 15 in this week’s coaches poll.

The top seven in the AP poll is unchanged from the preseason poll, but Notre Dame is now eighth after starting the season ninth. Texas moved up a spot to No. 9, Auburn moved up six spots to No. 10, Florida dropped three spots to No. 11 and Texas A&M remained ranked at No. 12.

After Utah and Washington, Penn State rounds out the Top 15, staying where it was to begin the season.

The Utah State Aggies received eight votes in the preseason AP poll but received none this week after losing a late lead last Friday and falling to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, 38-35.
