President-elect Joe Biden has revealed the names of his Transition COVID-19 Advisory Board, which will aim to shape his approach to managing the pandemic.
- “The advisory board will help shape my approach to managing the surge in reported infections; ensuring vaccines are safe, effective, and distributed efficiently, equitably, and free; and protecting at-risk populations,” Biden said in a statement issued early Monday morning.
The board includes:
Dr. David Kessler
- Kessler worked in the George H.W. Bush and Clinton administrations as commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Dr. Vivek Murthy
- Murthy is a former U.S. surgeon general.
Dr. Marcella Nunez-Smith
- Ninenz-Smith is an associated professor of internal medicine, public health and management at the Yale School of Medicine.
Dr. Rebecca Katz
Katz is a professor and director for the Center for Global Health Science and Security at Georgetown University Medical Center.
