The ending to “Spider-Man: No Way Home” was rewritten so much that it was even edited on set, according to IGN.

Tom Holland, who plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man, recently told GQ magazine that he was never clear on the ending of “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” even when on set filming.

  • “I kept stopping and being like, ‘I’m so sorry, I just don’t believe what I’m saying.’ ” he said.
  • “You could ask the director, ‘What happens in act three?’ And his response would be, ‘I’m still trying to figure it out.’ ”

Holland said he and director Jon Watts went through the script, too, per IGN.

  • “We sat down, we went through it, and we came up with a new idea,” Holland said. “Then we pitched it to the writers, they rewrote it, and it works great.”

On Tuesday, Marvel Studios released the newest trailer for “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which shows how Spider-Man has to team up with Doctor Strange to take on multiple Spider-Man villains who enter through the multiverse, as I wrote for the Deseret News.

  • Green Goblin and Doctor Ock (played by Alfred Molina, who played the role in the “Spider-Man 2” film starring Tobey Maguire), will appear in the new movie. Sandman and Electro will also show up.
