It’s a big weekend for the No. 23 Utah football team, with No. 3 Oregon coming to Salt Lake City this Saturday.

The Utes started the weekend on a positive note Friday, as they received a commitment from one of the state’s top prospects in the 2022 recruiting class, Park City athlete Carson Tabaracci.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Tabaracci is rated the ninth-best recruit in the 2022 class from the state of Utah, per 247 Sports’ composite rankings. Tabaracci held scholarship offers from a number of Power Five programs, including USC, Notre Dame, Oregon, Michigan, Oklahoma State, Stanford and UCLA, among others, according to 247 Sports.

Utah football gets commitment from Brighton star LB Lander Barton

Tabaracci excelled on both sides of the ball for the Miners, playing as a running back and linebacker. This season, he ran for 1,188 yards and 15 touchdowns while also catching 23 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns, per the Deseret News database.

Tabaracci also had 19 tackles.

He joins another top Utah prospect in Brighton linebacker Lander Barton, the No. 2-rated recruit in the state who committed to the Utes less than two weeks ago.

Tabaracci becomes the ninth prospect to commit to Utah’s 2022 recruiting class.
