The first trailer of “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” promises to uncover the secrets from “Harry Potter.”

In the new movie, Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and his crew — a magizoologist, a school teacher and a muggle — team up with Dumbledore (Jude Law) and go to Hogwarts, the wizarding school in the “Harry Potter” series, according to Polygon.

  • “This is the team that’s going to take down the most dangerous wizard in over a century,” said Callum Turner’s Theseus Scamander, Newt’s brother, according to Entertainment Weekly
  • The trailer also gives us a peek at the bad guy, Mads Mikkelsen as Gellert Grindelwald. Per CNN, Johnny Depp played Grindelwald in the first two installments of the “Fantastic Beasts” series and he has now been recast.

This movie is the third chapter of the series, releasing on April 15, 2022. The screenplay was written by J.K. Rowling and Steve Kloves and is directed by David Yates, who also directed the last four “Harry Potter” films and all the “Fantastic Beasts” films, per CNN.

According to Forbes, the trailers for “The Crimes of Grindelwald,” the second installment of the series, were more compelling but only time will tell whether “The Secrets of Dumbledore” will be a better film overall.
