Another Utah Ute has declared for the NFL draft.

Linebacker Nephi Sewell announced Saturday that he is entering the NFL draft, but will play in the 2022 Rose Bowl.

“When I came to the U.S., my brothers and I regularly spoke about the dream of playing professional football. After five seasons at the collegiate level, I am ready to take the next step towards that dream,” he wrote in a message on social media.

“I am excited to announce that I will be entering the 2022 NFL draft following the Rose Bowl. Ending my Utah career with a Pac 12 title and Rose Bowl appearance is the perfect way to wrap up my time playing college football.”

Sewell, one half of Utah’s linebacker duo alongside Devin Lloyd, has recorded 81 tackles this year, which ranks second on the team. He also has an interception.

Sewell joins TJ Pledger, Britain Covey and Cole Fotheringham in declaring for the draft. Lloyd has not officially annouced his declaration for the draft, but he is widely expected to enter and be a first-round pick.

Lloyd has accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl, which further points that he will enter the draft.
