Fremont 1, Lone Peak 1 (Fremont advances on penalties 4-3)
Tyler Ware, Naime Odeh, Braxton Laughter and Dax Iverson all scored in the shootout as visiting Fremont knocked off Lone Peak in penalties for the 6A first round win.
Gaven Nelson netted two goals and assisted one more to lead Northridge to the shutout victory over West.
American Fork scored a goal in each half as it went on the road and knocked off Granger in the 6A first round.
Sam Briceno, Ben Kump and Isaac Rollins each had a goal in the win for Copper Hills over Kearns in the 6A first round.
Camden Nobel and Blake Olberholzer scored first half goals to pace Layton to the 6A first round road victory over Hunter.
5A First Round
Hilario Cruz Ramirez recorded a hat trick as Hillcrest edged region foe Highland in the 5A first round. Hillcrest tacked on a tale goal to make it 3-2, but Hillcrest’s defense held on to preserve the win.
Ethan Binks and Matt Conway each scored a goal to help Spanish Fork come away with the hard-fought win over East in the 5A first round. Jamison Barrett earned the shutout for the Dons.
Barrett Schafer and Abdul Shaher each scored a goal to lead Murray to the shutout win over Springville.
Maple Mountain 5, Cottonwood 1
Brian Bess recorded two goals and an assist while Kyler Mercado added a goal and an assist as Maple Mountain rolled past Cottonwood for the 5A first round win after building the 3-0 halftime lead.
Ryan Wray, Jaffer West, Landon Ward, Elvis Corado and Nathan Blanchard all found the back of the net as Woods Cross pulled away from Olympus in the second half for the 5A first round victory.
Nick Reeves scored the only goal of the game to give Bountiful the win over Timpanogos in the 5A first round. Parker Hayford earned the shutout for the Braves.
