6A first round (Game 2)

Taylorsvile 13, Kearnas 3

Taylorsville Warriors slayed the Cougars in five innings scoring 13 runs on 15 hits and didn’t commit any errors. Calleigh DeYoung had two RBI’s including a double and triple.

Layton 11, American Fork 5

Layton defeated American Fork to move on to the next round of the playoffs. Joslyn Purcell knocked one out of the park. Hayden Ellington threw all seven innings with seven strikeouts.

Syracuse 13, Northridge 2

Rachel Godfrey doubled and drove in four runs as Syracuse pulled away from Northridge with an eight-run fourth inning to complete the 2-0 series sweep of the 6A first round series.

West 5, Lone Peak 3

West scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to break open Game 2 of the 6A first round series and force a Game 3.

Pleasant Grove 11, Roy 8

Pleasant Grove scored five runs in the sixth inning to come from behind and take the win over Roy in the 6A first round series. Kaitlyn Phelon had four RBIs and two home runs while Zoey Rose had a RBI, double, triple and earned the win pitching for the Vikings.

Copper Hills 10, Davis 0

Maddie Jennings had three RBIs, two doubles and earned the win pitching as Copper Hills defeated Davis in the 6A first round.

Westlake 19, Jordan 0

Westlake made quick work of Jordan to clinch the 2-0 series sweep in the 6A first round series. Addalie Purcel led the way at the plate with a double, home run and three RBIs.

Hunter 9, West Jordan 5

Teya Gasu had three RBIs, a home run and earned the win as Hunter defeated West Jordan to complete the two-game series sweep.

6A first round (Game 3)

Lone Peak 11, West 6

Kora Lowe went 2 for 4 with a home run and an RBI and then in the circle she struck out seven batters to earn the victory as Lone Peak prevailed in Game 3 of the 6A first round series to advance.

5A second round (Game 2)

Bonneville 17, Cottonwood 6

Bonneville took a 2-0 series win over Cottonwood in the 5A second round. Emmaline DeGroot had three RBIs and a home run while also securing the win pitching for the Lakers.

East 12, Park City 2

Tai Lee drove in three runs to key East’s win over Park City to advance to the next round of the 5A state tournament.

Orem 14, Viewmont 4

Amanda Pay had four RBIs and a home run and Alli Mickelsen had a RBI and earned the win pitching as Orem took the 2-0 sweep over Viewmont in the 5A second round.

Box Elder 22, Hillcrest 0

Kamryn Peterson had five RBIs and a double as Box Elder defeated Hillcrest 2-0 in the 5A second round series.

Salem Hills 19, Woods Cross 9

Salem Hills scored 19 runs on 19 hits to defeat Woods Cross in Game 1. Cassidy Wilson hit two doubles and had three RBI’s.

Payson 11, Skyline 0

Payson beat Skyline in Game 2 with the same 11-0 score as it won by in Game 1 to complete the series sweep in the 5A second round series.

Timpanogos 13, Mountain View 0

Timpanogos blew out Mountain View in the first two innings scoring 13 runs off of five hits. Lataya Brost and Alexis Adams knocked ones out of the park. Emily Hicken threw a complete game with five strikeouts.

Maple Mountain 9, Alta 7

Maple Mountain came away with the 5A second round series win despite a sixth inning rally by Alta. Madilyn Henry and Aaliyah Peterson each hit a home run in the win.
