The Utah football program just keeps hauling in commits from quarterback recruits.
The latest commitment comes from Californian Brandon Rose, a member of the 2022 recruiting class who made the announcement Friday on Instagram.
This comes less than a week after Kyle Whittingham’s team received a commit from another California QB, Nate Johnson.
Rose is listed as a 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback by 247 Sports, who preps at Murrieta Valley High in Murrieta, California, with offers from several other FBS programs, including Pac-12 programs Arizona State and Colorado, according to their site.
Rose had most recently visited Northwestern after a visit to Utah on June, 247 Sports reported.
“I love the offense and what coach (Utah offensive coordinator Andy) Ludwig wants to do,” Rose told 247 Sports’ Greg Biggins. “He’s a great coach and I think I fit in really well. He’s a coach who will build his offense around his personnel and they have been up front with me from the beginning that I was the top guy on their board and I’m looking forward to competing right away.
“I know they have the transfer from Baylor (Charlie Brewer) who will play this fall but after that, it’s going to be wide open. I’m graduating early and my goal is to come in and win the job as a true freshman and I’m confident I can do it.”
Rose joins Johnson, Texas wide receiver Zion Steptoe and Weber High athlete Aisea Moa as players who have committed to Utah for 2022. Moa pledged in January.
