Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently revealed that there’s an Easter egg from “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” in “Black Widow.”

“There’s also an Easter egg that originally was going to appear first in ‘Black Widow,’ and then show up in ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier,’ and because of the pandemic — it’s the only thing within our Phase 4 that was twisted a little bit,” Feige said, according to Gizmodo. “So for fans that watched ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier,’ there’s something waiting for them as an Easter egg in this film.”

The fifth episode of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” actually had a cameo that was meant for “Black Widow,” sort of.

Vanity Fair reports that Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine was meant to be in “Black Widow.” But, the film was delayed due to the pandemic, which forced her introduction to take place in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.”

Just a reminder — Valentina Allegra de Fontaine is a random woman who approaches John Walker and convinces him to become a hero like Captain America because the world will need a Captain America soon enough.

It’s unclear what her appearance means for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

  • “There is no information on the size of the role or if Marvel Studios is changing this plan due to the Phase 4 release slate reshuffling. All that is known at this time is that Louis-Dreyfus was scheduled to appear in ‘Black Widow,’ and that might still be the case when the film releases in theaters and on Disney+ this July,” according to ScreenRant.

But, according to Vanity Fair, Louis-Dreyfus’ time won’t end with “TFATWS” and “Black Widow” as she may be making appearances down the road.
