After the opening week of the high school football season, the top six teams in the Deseret News statewide top 25 rankings remain unchanged, with Region 4 teams holding onto the top four spots in convincing fashion.

Orem picked up a big win over East to open the season as it stayed in the fifth spot, with Bingham remaining in No. 6 after an impressive win over Weber.

Corner Canyon won its 41st straight game to remain in the top spot, and was the consensus No. 1 according according to the two media publications and two computer polls that produce Utah statewide rankings.

The Deseret News (top 25) and KSL (top 20) are the two Utah media publications that have a statewide ranking, while Parry’s Power Guide and MaxPreps are the two computer polls that have an overall ranking.
