“Dancing With the Stars” announced its cast for the upcoming Season 30.

Suni Lee, the Team USA gymnast who won gold in Tokyo, will be on the show. That was announced a few weeks ago, according to ABC News.

  • The cast will include Mel C from the Spice Girls, former “Bachelor” star Matt James and Lori Loughlin’s daughter, Olivia Jade.
  • And the cast adds wrestler Mike “The Miz” Mizanin and NBA star Iman Shumpert, according to ABC News.

Who is Sunisa Lee?

According to the Deseret News, Sunisa Lee — also known as Suni Lee — is a Hmong American gymnast who performed well at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She became the sixth American woman to win a gold medal in the women’s all-around competition.

  • Lee — who is 18 and the youngest Team USA gymnast in Tokyo — beat her competition at the event by one-tenth of a point to win the gold medal.

Lee, who is from Minnesota, “went to the gym every day for all the first-generation Americans who wanted to achieve success when their parents had come to the United States with nothing,” reported The New York Times.

She is from a close-knit family. Her father has often cheered for her and supported her in her craft.
