Canyon View 1, Judge Memorial 0
Against one of the toughest opponents Canyon View has faced this season, one solitary goal was enough to get the No. 1 Falcons past an upset-minded No. 9 Judge Memorial, 1-0, to punch a ticket to the 3A semifinals at Zions Bank Stadium.
Hadlee Farrow had the critical first-half goal unassisted, and Gracie Burt came up with her 11th shutout of the season.
The Falcons will be up against No. 4 Morgan in the semis on Thursday.
Morgan 7, Delta 0
Morgan made a 4-vs-5 matchup look like anything but as the No. 4 Trojans squashed No. 5 Delta, 7-0, in the 3A state tournament quarterfinals.
Lacie Poll continued her hot streak, netting a hat trick for the third straight game, while Miya Turner recorded her eighth shutout of the season.
The Trojans advanced to the semifinals at Zions Bank Stadium and will face off against No. 1 Canyon View next Thursday.
Ogden 8, Carbon 0
No. 2 Ogden continued its torrent through the 3A state tournament with yet another runaway victory, shutting out No. 7 Carbon, 8-0 to punch its ticket to Zions Bank Stadium next week for the semifinals.
Kate Pulley went off for four goals and Neveah Peregrina added two more along with two assists. Ruth Larsen assisted four different goals, and Emily Blackford and Grace Malan shared the shutout.
The Tigers will go up against No. 6 Juan Diego next Thursday for a chance at their fifth-straight championship game appearance.
Juan Diego 3, Manti 2
In easily the most thrilling game so far of the 3A state tournament, No. 6 Juan Diego came away with a statement playoff win over No. 3 Manti, 3-2, in double-overtime to advance to the semifinals as the only seed outside the top 4.
The Soaring Eagle fought the Templars to a 2-2 tie and kept up the slugfest through an extra 10 minutes. Then, in the second OT, senior Maddie Chiazzese broke through and netted just the fourth goal of her career at the best possible time.
Juan Diego will play in the semifinals at Zions Bank Stadium next Thursday against No. 2 Ogden.
2A Playoffs
Parowan 4, Grand 2
No. 1 Parowan needed a good second half to escape No. 8 Grand County, 4-2, in the top of the 2A quarterfinals bracket.
Two goals from Brentlee Mineer helped the Rams make it to the semifinals for the first time since 2020. Parowan remains the only district school team remaining in the playoffs.
Parowan will face No. 5 St. Joseph’s at Zions Bank Stadium next Thursday.
St. Joseph 5, Millard 0
No. 5 St. Joseph delivered the first road win of the 2A state tournament with a convincing win over Millard, 5-0.
Sofia Evans and Abigail Gough each scored two goals, and Gough added an assist on top of that as the Jayhawks built a 3-0 halftime over the Eagles.
St. Joseph will face No. 1 Parowan in the semifinals next Thursday at Zions Bank Stadium.
Waterford 6, American Heritage 1
The typical Raven dominance was on display as No. 2 Waterford took care of business in its final home playoff game, dousing No. 7 American Heritage, 6-1.
Grace Morris led the scoring with a hat trick, the fourth of the season for her, as she eclipsed 30 goals on the year.
Waterford will advance to the semifinals at Zions Bank Stadium and face off against No. 3 Rowland Hall on Thursday.
Rowland Hall 5, Maeser Prep 1
Despite a first-half score from the Lions, No. 3 Rowland Hall had its quarterfinal matchup with No. 6 Maeser Prep well in hand by halftime, scoring four goals in the first 40 minutes to run away with it, 5-1.
Paige Connery netted the third hat trick of her season, and Zakrie Smith added the other two goals.
The Winged Lions will advance to the semifinals at Zions Bank Stadium to take on No. 2 Waterford next Thursday.
