Head to Logan to kick off the holidays in a spectacular fashion as soon as you’ve finished your pumpkin pie. On Friday and Saturday, usher in the Christmas season with a matinee or evening performance of The Nutcracker with live orchestra in the glorious Ellen Eccles Theatre. The Cache Valley Civic Ballet brings Tchaikovsky’s timeless ballet to life with beautiful costumes and talented and disciplined dancers.
If you’re shopping for unique gifts for family and friends, look no further than Novemberfest Arts and Crafts Fair located at the fairgrounds from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. More than a hundred vendors and artisans will have seasonal decorations, crafts, home décor, jewelry, handmade gifts and more for sale. An additional 20 youth entrepreneurs will be selling their creations, too. Santa will stop in several times and the food and treat vendors will be whipping up pure deliciousness.
And now, for the celebration guaranteed to make Hallmark jealous: The free Center Street Holiday Celebration! Start Saturday with breakfast in a cute cafe, then stroll through our vibrant Historic Downtown Logan and shop at our one-of-a-kind local businesses. The second annual Center Street Celebration begins at noon with a free Christmas movie and ice skating, which opens for the season around the corner at the Laub Plaza on Main Street.
Center Street will be closed for an outdoor winter market with 30 different vendors selling unique gifts, carolers and other performers, a choir performance, and free Christmas movies held all day in the Utah Theatre. The Bluebird Candy Company will unveil this year’s new giant Christmas ornament made entirely of candy. Then Santa will lead his mesmerizing twinkle light parade to the Center Street Arch. The official downtown tree lighting happens next when all the trees and decorations are illuminated. The Jolly Old Elf will greet youngsters inside the Utah Theatre. Don’t forget the fireworks. Sound too good to be true? It is, and that’s exactly why you should come. Here are the details.
