Hey metal-heads, the wait is almost over.

The much-anticipated new Metallica album, "Death Magnetic," has a release date of Sept. 12. Previews of the Rick Rubin-produced, follow-up to the band's last studio album, 2003's "St. Anger," can be seen and heard at www.missionmetallica.com

"Death Magnetic" also marks the studio-recording debut of bassist Robert Trujillo, who joined the band after the completion of "St. Anger."

Here is the track listing for "Death Magnetic":

"That Was Just Your Life"

"The End of the Line"

"Broken, Beat & Scarred"

"The Day That Never Comes"

"All Nightmare Long"

"Cyanide"

"The Unforgiven III"

"The Judas Kiss"

"Suicide & Redemption"

"My Apocalypse"

The titles all look pretty cool, except I wasn't a fan of "The Unforgiven II," which was on 1997's "Reload." I thought the band should have left the original "The Unforgiven" (found on the 1991 "Black Album") untouched.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure that the song "My Apocalypse" isn't an Arch Enemy cover. But, then again, you never know.

Metallica is the band who put out the cover-song extended play "Garage Days Revisited" and then re-released it with an additional CD as "Garage Inc." ... and threw in their version of the classic Irish pub tune "Whiskey in a Jar" for good measure.

At any rate, I am waiting for "Death Magnetic" and wonder what Mr. Rubin's production will sound like on the mighty Metallica.
