A once-hidden scene in “Avengers: Endgame” has now finally been released, this time on Disney Plus.
The scene stars Katherine Langford, the star of the Netflix show “13 Reasons Why.” She stars as the grown-up version of Tony Stark’s daughter, Morgan, in a vision that Tony sees after he snaps his fingers while wearing the Infinity Stones.
The scene appeared in the extra of Disney Plus’ version of the film.
The scene was reportedly filmed to work as a goodbye moment for Iron Man. But. according to Polygon, the scene was cut because it didn’t add much.
“We felt it ground the movie to a halt and we felt he did something similar in the next sequence when he gives his own eulogy,” said Joe Russo in the film’s commentary, according to Polygon. “What can happen in a film this big is you can have ending after ending after ending and it starts to feel like the movie’s never going to end. When you have too many (ending) sequences in a row, you can dilute the value of each one of them.”
“This is originally what happened after Tony snapped his fingers,” Joe Russo said, according to Entertainment Weekly. “We sent him to what we would call ‘The Way Station’ to mirror what happened with Thanos with his daughter in ‘Infinity War.’”
“The idea is that this moment, that act forces you to confront or reconcile something that is unresolved in yourself and your soul,” Anthony said, according to Entertainment Weekly.
