Disney Plus continues to roll out new episodes of “The Mandalorian.” But there’s a new report out on what could be the next television show for the service.
What’s going on: Making Star Wars editor Jason Ward told The Inverse that there’s “a new Star Wars show” that is beginning production that no one knows about.
- Ward said the project would surround the character Doctor Aphra, who is from the Marvel Comics series about Darth Vader.
- Aphra has her own comic book series from Marvel, too.
- Ward: “I’m hearing it’s a Lucasfilm-Marvel venture with both companies teaming up to bring a Star Wars show to the small screen.”
- The likely release date would come in 2020 if it’s already being developed, according to ComicBook.com.
Yes, but: Per ComicBook.com, it’s unclear if Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige will have any say in the development of the show.

Don’t forget: Disney already announced an Obi-Wan Kenobi series for Disney Plus, which will star Ewan McGregor in the titular role, as reported by the Deseret News.
- “Internally, we’ve wanted this for so long, but we know how much the fans want it too,” Kennedy told Entertainment Weekly at D23. “(McGregor) wanted to come back, and he’s so excited to play the character of Obi-Wan again. He really does embody who Obi-Wan is. And to think that Alec Guinness was really his mentor and now he’s stepping into those shoes for this series, it’s really exciting.”
