Vanessa Bryant celebrated the Los Angeles Lakers’ championship win in a new social media post.

  • Bryant posted a photo of her late husband Kobe Bryant and current Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka on her Instagram Story.
  • “Congratulations Uncle P! Congratulations @Lakers Kobe was right, RP! ‘Stay the course blockout the noise.’ @kobebryant Wish Kobe and Gigi were here to see this.”

Kobe Bryant reportedly predicted that Pelinka would turn around the franchise within two or three years of his hiring, according to USA Today.

  • Pelinka said after the title win: “I guess you were right, man. You give me the energy to do it.”

Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna Bryant, died in a tragic helicopter crash in January 2020. The death sent a shockwave throughout the NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers responded by paying tribute to Kobe Bryant in multiple ways, including a “Mamba” chant in every huddle and “Black Mamba” jerseys.
